IT modernization for a law firm
A practical IT plan for a Romanian law firm, shaped around confidentiality, everyday usability, and recurring costs.
The problem
An established practice needs a more coherent way to manage email, shared documents, and remote work across Windows and Mac devices. The plan must fit familiar Word-based workflows, a limited budget, and a growing team.
My role
I’m the IT consultant and solution designer. I gather requirements, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and shape the proposed workflows and administration procedures around the firm’s day-to-day work.
How I use AI
I use AI to structure requirements, research and compare options, and develop guidance for setup, onboarding, permissions, and backups. I review recommendations against cost, confidentiality, and usability; technical decisions remain my responsibility.
Current scope
The scope covers domain-based email, shared document storage, access permissions, backup and recovery, and remote access. I am also exploring the website’s future scope. Platform choices and deployment details remain under evaluation. This is ongoing planning and solution design, rather than a completed implementation.
